tide is hosting A Fragmented Pathway. Experiences of the South Asian Community and the Dementia Care Pathway: A Care Giver’s Journey by Shahid Mohammed, in conjunction with Salford University. The report has generated huge interest and we hope it reaches as wide an audience as possible.
Shahid’s report is a must-read for all those responsible for commissioning and providing services within a South Asian community from primary care, memory services, hospital and community care to end of life.
It demonstrates the reality of what families must go through to get the right care, in the right place, at the right time and challenges the assumption that “they look after their own, don’t they”.
