Dementia UK launches new awareness campaign

Lives on Hold, Dementia UK’s new awareness campaign, launched online on 15 June. Dementia UK wants to ensure that everyone who needs it has access to the vital support that their dementia specialist Admiral Nurses can provide. The one and two minute videos show how life for carers of people living with dementia is similar to living in lockdown for many months and often years. As life begins to get back to a new kind of normal for most people, families living with dementia will see little change. They have also produced three short videos in which carers express what lockdown means to them and how people can get access to their support and advice. The videos feature three of their ambassadors – Jim Broadbent, Phyllis Logan and Adelle Tracey, as well as reality star Georgia Kousoulou and musician Naughty Boy – all of whom have or had relatives living with dementia. Admiral Nurses, carers and staff also talk in the videos about what they miss most about life before lockdown. To view the videos, please visit their website
