Initiatives to help reduce unnecessary admissions and length of stay in acute hospitals for people with dementia
Unnecessary admissions to hospital and unnecessarily prolonged stays in hospital can have severe detrimental effects on people living with dementia . This can be prevented with an individualised and person-centred approach, ensuring that people living with dementia receive the right care in the right environment – in the community where possible or in hospital when needed.
