A new leaflet aimed at families, friends, and unpaid carers about delirium has just been published. Co-produced with tide, Alzheimer's Society and the West Yorkshire and Harrogate Health and Care Partnership Partnership the leaflet will help carers identify delirium and know how to support someone with delirium.

Make carers count is the overwhelming ask from the members of tide. Unpaid carers of people living with dementia require urgent action to address the many challenges they face. Unpaid carers –usually family or friends of the person with dementia - are the largest “workforce” in dementia care, saving the UK economy at least £13.9 billion a year. Without the dedication, commitment and significant sacrifice of these carers the whole care economy would simply collapse.

Do you want to have a lead role in helping carers of people with dementia speak up about what matters to them and to have their voices heard by national and local government, the NHS and health and social care providers? We are looking for a dynamic, articulate individual who understands the specific needs of carers of people with dementia. You will know how to network and advocate on their behalf as well as involve them as equal partners in influencing policy, practice and research. You’ll be working remotely most of the time with a lot of autonomy, but will be part of a supportive and innovative team who are determined to grow our network of carers to become a strong and viable force for change.
